The CONNECT program provides Gainesville employers with access to qualified, degree-holding displaced professionals. Professionals with Associates degree or higher and/or 5+ years experience in an industry meet every Monday from 5:45pm-7:30pm to engage with community-invested presenters, network with local employers and perfect their job search process. The meetings rotate monthly at employer sites to increase visibility and marketability. CONNECT is always in search of new employer sites, human resources presenters and employers to engage in mini-interview sessions.
CONNECT launched in 2009 through a partnership between the Gainesville Area Chamber of Commerce, CareerSource NCFL (formerly FloridaWorks), the North Central Florida Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), Naylor LLC., and the Florida Employment Advisory Council (FEAC).
Florida Ready to Work is an employee credentialing program sponsored by the state of Florida. The program tests job skills and work habits, in three assessments – applied mathematics, reading for information and locating information, to help employers identify applicants with the most potential. Florida Ready to Work gives participating employers a competitive edge by reducing employee turnover and training costs, saving you time and money in the hiring/recruiting process.
HBOTT is a grant-funded, on-the-job training program designed to assist employers in hiring, training and retaining qualified program eligible employees in permanent positions. The next deadline for employer HBOTT applications is March 14, 2014.
The Red Carpet Customer Service training and certification program is designed to help employers teach the lessons of customer service for both internal and external customers. In addition to increasing awareness of customer service skills, other benefits include reducing the cost of employee turnover due to lack of soft skills and increasing the community’s value.
